If you have thought about using daily disposable contacts and haven’t yet made the leap, there are new products available and you might even be surprised how affordable they can be.  Once you start using them, it is not likely that you will go back unless budget is a serious consideration for you.

One of the main reasons that people use these is for the convenience.  Obviously being able to take out your daily disposable contacts after you have used them and simply discard them is as easy as you can get.  You don’t have to fool around with solution or anything like that.

On top of that, they are generally a healthier option.  While there has been great advancement in the technology of contact lenses and specifically the materials that are used, there is no avoiding the fact that particulate really can’t accumulate on lenses that are thrown out on a daily basis.

When it comes to the expense, it might not be as bad as you would think.  First of all, you have to consider that you won’t need to buy additional accessories like solution.  That can make the price get a little closer to extended wear lenses.

You also have to consider the possibility of losing a pair of contact lenses.  It often happens, and you don’t always find they lens that comes out at an inopportune time.  If you end up losing a lens that was supposed to last for a month after just a few days aware, it might end up being just as expensive as using daily disposables.

Talk to your eye care professional about the possibility of using daily disposable contacts.  They will also be able to advise you about the price difference and obviously about what kind of contact lenses are going to work best with your eyes.

Everybody’s eyes are different.  You may find that you get discomfort or irritation from various problems.  Some people are very sensitive to the buildup of protein on the lenses.  Other people find that the lack of oxygen can be a problem.  For many, dry eyes are an issue and finding something that will stay moist is a challenge.

Dailies Contacts are a group of products that come from CibaVision.  This is one of the better companies in the contact lens industry and they produce some excellent products.  If dry eyes are your problem, then you might want to talk about the Dailies AquaComfort Plus contacts with your eye care professional.

You can read in detail about the technology and the materials that are used in the construction.  To put it in a fairly simple way, they are designed to replenish their moisture every time you blink.  You do this more often than you think, so if it really works this way you’ll find that your eyes will stay moist all day long.

When using the Dailies Contacts in practice, they really do feel like that.  For somebody who has had trouble with dry eyes, they are not only comfortable when you first put them in but you’ll find even at the end of the day that they are hardly noticeable.

Dailies come with other advantages and conveniences.  One of the nice things about wearing any daily contacts is that you can simply throw them out at the end of the day.  You don’t have to fuss with solution and there’s no concern about the buildup of protein or particulate.  Over the course of the day, they just don’t have a chance to suffer these problems.  If these fit into your budget and your eye care professional recommends them to you, they might be the most comfortable contact lenses you can find.

There was a time years ago when night and day contacts first made their debut in the market.  Back then, different materials were used in the construction and many contact wearers found that they ended up with the irritation.  It seems like the original night and day contacts were a little bit before their time.

Now, there are silicone hydrogel versions that provide far more oxygen to the eyes than these original varieties.  It has allowed people to wear their contacts for up to 30 days at a time without needing to take them out.  Many people find that they can even sleep with their contacts in without any discomfort.  Even better, there are a wide variety of types that can suit some of the strongest prescriptions.

Of course, this is not for everyone.  Even if you have night and day contacts, you may find that sleeping in them does not work for you.  That doesn’t necessarily mean that you should not consider them.  Because of their excellent oxygen permeability, they can still be a comfortable option even if you only wear them during the day.

There are versions that go for one week, two weeks or a month and what you choose will depend on your budget and the discussions that you have with your eye care professional.  One thing that you should definitely avoid is wearing them for periods longer than the manufacturer suggests.

These can be a good option for people who have considered Lasik eye surgery for the convenience but are still a little nervous about the procedure.  The convenience that you enjoy with night and day contacts is going to be quite close to what you would experience following eye surgery.  Of course, you’ll still have to change them every once in a while, but it is a significantly better situation than the lenses of 20 or 30 years ago.

There are often cases when you use superlatives like that to describe a particular product.  In this case in really fits.  CibaVision is a company that has long been known for innovation in the contact lens industry.  They focus on making some of the best quality lenses available with the highest levels of comfort.

That has definitely been the aim with these O2 Optix Contacts.   They offer five times the amount of oxygen to permeation that you would get from regular soft contact lenses.  They can actually make the claim that they provide more oxygen through the lens than any other product in the market.

For people who have suffered from irritation and redness due to lack of oxygen, this may come as great news.  It can be very hard for those people to find a contact lens that they can wear for longer periods of time.

You can actually wear the O2 Optix Contacts for a period of up to six days without taking them out at all.  That’s something that you wouldn’t even consider with most contact lenses on the market.  It’s not necessary that you do that, but it just goes to show how much air they are letting through.

Much of this comes from a different type of silicone hydrogel called lotrafilcon B.  CibaVision was the first company to offer silicone hydrogel contact lenses, and they appear to be continuing to push the industry forward with excellent products like these.

Obviously, these won’t be the least expensive contact lenses available on the market but it comfort is important to you that’s often a secondary consideration.  Talk your eye care professional about these specifically and you are sure to get some positive reactions for them.  They are well respected in the industry and may solve the problems for having if you find your contacts uncomfortable.

It is so often the case that a company who leads the industry continues to offer the best products.  In most cases, the competitors will be in a scramble to get where that company currently is while the innovator is moving forward.  That’s certainly the case with Ciba Contacts.

You may not realize that this was the first company that came up with the silicone hydrogel contact lens material.  If you don’t follow the changes in the contact lens industry that much, this has been one of the most important innovations to come along in its history.  It has increased the amount of comfort available from contact lenses substantially.

While you will find that other contact lens companies have a greater variation in the amount of the products they offer, they may not have the same quality that you get from CibaVision.  It seems that they will focus more on creating the best in a certain market and each than they will on offering something for everyone.

Still, you will find a number of the brands that come from Ciba Contacts to have familiar names.  Some of the best respected contacts like Focus Dailies, FreshLook and the Air Optix brand all come from the parent company.  They have versions of multi focal lenses, toric lenses and custom versions to suit specific needs.

In many cases, Ciba Contacts will be what you’ll look for if you want the very best of a certain kind of product.  You’ll find that the Air Optix for just about the most comfortable contact lenses you can wear.  A high degree of oxygen permeability and very good moisture control contribute to their superior comfort.  Likewise, the Focus Dailies are some of the most comfortable daily disposables you can find and you will often forget that you are even wearing them.
