Polymer Technology a subsidiary of Bausch & Lomb produces the Boston brand of contact lenses. Boston contact lenses are rigid gas permeable lenses designed for special eye needs and customization. Special needs lenses increase cost and reduces demand. Gas permeable contact lenses require a much higher degree of maintenance than daily or weekly disposable lenses. These contact lenses allow air to permeate through with the objective of more efficiently oxygenating eye surfaces.
