Banshee
Instead of being a simple yellow contact, this lens also gives you a reptilian
or catlike slit for an eye. Not only that, but the jagged red color around the
outside gives a bloodshot and therefore evil look to these contacts. These two
components together give this contact a nice freaky reptilian edge that will
seriously disturb your friends when you glare at them.
Like with most Halloween contacts, black is always a good option to wear with.
However, if used right, purple (yellow’s complimentary color) or green
(red’s) can also look very good as long as they are murky and grayish.
Because of the nice flow of the red into the yellow, these have a 3-D look,
were the red seems to draw further back into the eye. This will be a definite
advantage if you keep the rest of your costume simple, because instead of taking
one look at your eyes before saying “Wow! Cool lenses, where’d you
get them?” people’s eyes will be drawn into them, and they will
have to look at them for a minute, examining them closely. This is a big advantage
if you want to put the emphasis on your face.
Plain black hair color will make the contacts seem brighter, but dark, dirty
looking green or purple will add a nice dank nasty appearance. Note that the
green or purple hair should be worn long and dangling around your face, while
the black can be worn any way. Sickly green or white makeup with a slight purplish
tinge will look fantastic with the red and yellow, but make sure not to overdo
it, or you’ll just end up looking silly.
For females, if you choose to be a traditional banshee (shrieking female ghost
in Irish legend). If you think the lenses just look plain awesome, and you want
to go demon style: man or woman, it doesn’t matter. To be a good banshee,
you should choose green, purple, or black to be your theme. Wear robes or a
raggedy dress of your chosen color, dye your hair the same color , and put on
the makeup that stays consistent with your color scheme (unless it is black,
then use either the purple or green makeup). If you want to look like a demonic
person, any clothes will work, as long as they’re black or blood red.
Wear nasty, dirty, rotting fake teeth in keeping with your decaying banshee
look. If you’re a demon, vampire fangs work well, since they give a sense
of savageness without overdoing it. Purple Kitty contact lenses are pretty much
the same, but with purple instead of red, and Gremlin switches the red and yellow,
so if you and a partner or two want to dress up as banshees together, then why
not get a set of each?
